I’m Mark

My entrepreneurial journey began in free-lance digital design work and software development while still in college, but I realized my true vision with the launch of Concannon Business Consulting (CBC) in 2006, where my goal was to bring the best resources to help companies enhance their operations, strategy, and overall profitability.  Building on this initial success, I delved into the exciting realm of XR (Extended Reality) technologies, such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), with the launch of Concannon XR (CXR).  This has lead to the launch of a software offering, Service Assist XR, a partnership with Talespin to launch Service Training XR and other pursuits still to come.

Each of these ventures, and each client project I have had the privilege of contributing to, has helped me further hone my expertise in business strategy, operations, and technology.  After over 30 years of consulting, in many different forms, I have loved the beginnings of being involved in advisory boards and assisting smaller organizations begin the steps to become broader reaching and move towards operating at scale.

The recognition I've received as an industry authority is truly humbling. It has opened doors for me to share my insights on business transformation and the boundless potential of emerging technologies at prestigious conferences and events. 

But none of this has eclipsed my core belief: at the heart of every successful technology effort is a hardworking team focused on the benefits of the initiative.  In the end, it is the people who use the technology, that drive our businesses and work together to succeed in the stated goals.

Today at each of my three core businesses, CBC, CXR and MercurHub™, we have built a global reputation for combining technical expertise with business strategy and process-driven execution. With a keen understanding of critical business functions and needs, we help our clients resolve challenges by setting strategy, implementing technology, designing processes, deploying staff, and developing talent in several areas, including: Adaptive Learning, Business Consulting, Contracts Management, Extended Reality (XR), and Professional Staffing.

Beyond the Boardroom

When I'm not in the office, you'll find me embracing the things that define who I am. Washington state’s mountains call to my adventurous spirit, while scuba diving fuels my love for exploration and appreciation for all life can offer in its most basic ways. I find inspiration in modern art, pushing boundaries and expanding my perspective in spirited debate. Good food, paired with wine, scotch or bourbon, satisfies my refined tastes but still requires people to share it with. These passions bring balance to my life and remind me to savor the moments that make it extraordinary as we look for each moment with the friends, family and colleagues we labor to capture more time with every day.
